Local Food Guide
Eating locally produced food is more than just a trend--it's a decision that benefits personal health, local economies, and the environment. It's simple: local organic food is better for your body than processed food; the money spent on local produce stays in communities instead of enriching distant companies; and food grown locally doesn't have to travel hundreds or thousands of miles to get to you, avoiding carbon emissions and other transportation costs.
If you're interested in eating local while in Danville and Boyle County, peruse the Local Food Guide below, compiled by Centre College student Sarah Green as part of her environmental studies senior seminar. It provides information on all the current restaurants, farmers markets, and grocery stores that provide locally sourced, organic, and humane food products.
