• About the CVB

    Our Mission

The mission of the Danville/Boyle County Convention and Visitors Bureau is to create a positive economic impact on Boyle County and Central Kentucky by attracting visitors and their investments to our community.  We lead efforts to establish tourism strategies through marketing and community support.

    What We Do

Danville/Boyle County Convention and Visitors Bureau responsibilities:

    • To encourage groups to hold meetings, conventions, events and trade shows in the area we represent; to act as a liaison for those groups with meeting/event preparations and while their meeting/event is in progress.

    • To serve as a marketing agency for the community by promoting area attractions to visitors.

    • To offer information services to visiting tourists encouraging them to enjoy the artistic, historic, cultural and recreational opportunities Danville/Boyle County offers.

    • To lead efforts to establish a strategy to increase tourism to the area thereby positively affecting the local economy in conjunction with the Economic Development Partners.

    • A CVB does not organize meetings/conventions/events. It does, however, help planners and visitors learn about the destination and area attractions and make the best possible use of all the services and facilities our destination has to offer.

    Who We Are

The Danville/Boyle County Convention and Visitor Bureau (CVB) is a not-for-profit organization (a joint city-county agency) supported by transient room tax.

For visitors, CVBs are a key to the county. As an unbiased resource, we can serve as a broker or an official point of contact for convention/meeting/event planners, tour operators and visitors. They assist planners with preparation and encourage business travelers and visitors alike to visit local artistic, historic, cultural and recreational attractions.

Travel and tourism enhances the quality of life for a local community by providing jobs, bringing in tax dollars for improvement of services and infrastructure, and attracting facilities like restaurants, shops, festivals, and cultural and sporting venues that cater to both visitors and locals.

We are members of the Kentucky Association of CVBs, Bluegrass Regional Tourism Groups, KY Hotel and Lodging Association and the Kentucky Travel Industry Association (KTIA).
